Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the A Good Turn Company website and platform (“Service”) operated by A Good Turn Company (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the A Good Turn Company platform, registering for an account, or submitting any content, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and A Good Turn Company.
2. Account Registration and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By registering, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You may not create more than one account of the same type using the same email address. Duplicate accounts are strictly prohibited and may result in the termination of all associated accounts.
Account type combinations are governed as follows: Individual accounts and Business accounts cannot be merged or combined into a single account. However, a Business account or an Individual account may be combined with an Affiliate account. Any attempt to circumvent these restrictions will result in immediate account termination.
3. Intellectual Property and Content Ownership
By uploading, posting, sharing, or otherwise submitting any image, photograph, graphic, video, text, or other content (“User Content”) to the A Good Turn Company platform, you irrevocably transfer and assign to A Good Turn Company all rights, title, and interest in and to such User Content, including but not limited to all copyrights, intellectual property rights, and ownership rights worldwide.
You acknowledge and agree that: (a) once you agree to these Terms and submit any User Content, all ownership rights to that content are permanently and irrevocably waived and transferred to A Good Turn Company; (b) A Good Turn Company may use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, perform, and display such User Content in any media format, worldwide, without compensation to you; (c) A Good Turn Company retains the right to license, sublicense, sell, or otherwise exploit User Content in its sole discretion; and (d) you waive any moral rights or rights of attribution with respect to all User Content submitted to the platform.
All trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and other intellectual property displayed on the platform are the exclusive property of A Good Turn Company or their respective owners. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.
4. Platform Content and Business Listings
A Good Turn Company serves as a platform that allows businesses and individuals to post events, listings, and recommendations. The Company does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or legality of content posted by users. All content is posted at the sole responsibility of the user who submitted it.
A Good Turn Company reserves the right, but is not obligated, to review, monitor, edit, or remove any content at its sole discretion and without notice. The Company makes no representations or warranties about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of any content on the platform.
5. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, A Good Turn Company, its owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and successors (“Company Parties”) shall be fully absolved from any and all liability, claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses of any kind arising out of or related to: (a) your use of or inability to use the Service; (b) any content posted, transmitted, or shared on the platform by any user; (c) any transactions, interactions, or disputes between users; (d) any events listed or attended through the platform; (e) any harm, injury, loss, or damage occurring at or in connection with any event discovered through our platform; (f) unauthorized access to your account or data; (g) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; or (h) any other matter relating to the Service.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company Parties from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
6. Law Enforcement and Legal Cooperation
Cooperation with law enforcement agencies, government authorities, or legal processes regarding activities on our platform is subject to the sole and exclusive discretion of the Company’s owners. A Good Turn Company is under no obligation to proactively monitor, investigate, or report user activity to any law enforcement agency. Any decision to cooperate with, respond to, or provide information to law enforcement or government agencies will be made at the exclusive discretion of A Good Turn Company’s ownership, and only to the extent required by applicable law or compelled by valid legal process. Users acknowledge and accept this policy.
7. Business Accounts and Event Posting
Only registered Business Account holders may post events on the platform. Business accounts are subject to quarterly event posting limits based on their tier status. Businesses whose average rating falls below 3 stars across 75% or more of their reviewed interactions may have their posting privileges suspended pending review. A Good Turn Company reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate business posting privileges at any time for any reason.
Promoted event listings are available for an additional fee. Promoted content will be clearly labeled as such. Payment for promotional services is non-refundable unless a refund is requested in accordance with Section 8 of these Terms.
8. Payments, Memberships, and Refund Policy
Certain features of the Service require payment of fees (“Paid Services”). You agree to pay all applicable fees as described at the time of purchase. All fees are stated in U.S. dollars and are subject to change with notice.
Refund Policy: Refunds for any paid services, memberships, promotional placements, or subscriptions will only be provided if a refund is formally requested within 48 hours of the original date of purchase. After this 48-hour window, all sales are final and no refunds will be issued. Members may cancel their subscription at any time; however, cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period and no partial refunds will be provided for unused time beyond the 48-hour refund window.

9. User Ratings, Reviews, and Tier System
Users may rate and review businesses using our 5-star rating system after interaction or referral. Only reviews with a rating of 3 stars or higher will be published publicly on the platform. Reviews below 3 stars are recorded internally for quality monitoring purposes but will not be displayed publicly.
Users earn tier upgrades automatically and free of charge upon successfully completing 250 qualifying referrals or business recommendations per tier level. Tier status affects quarterly event posting limits and platform privileges as determined by A Good Turn Company in its sole discretion.
10. Business Discovery and Claiming
Individual account holders may suggest new businesses for inclusion on the platform. Only registered Business Account holders may claim and manage a business profile. Business claiming is subject to verification through publicly available records. A Good Turn Company does not guarantee the accuracy of business information and disclaims all liability related to business listings.
11. Privacy and Data Security
A Good Turn Company is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where applicable. We implement commercially reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We will not sell your personal data to third parties without your explicit consent. Our full Privacy Policy is incorporated herein by reference and governs the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information. Please review the Privacy Policy’s disclosures regarding device location, user-uploaded photos and videos, referral points and membership, and our use of OpenStreetMap mapping services, which describe the third-party services referenced in Section 24.
12. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: post false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content; impersonate any person or entity; create duplicate accounts; circumvent technical measures of the platform; use the Service for any illegal purpose; harass, abuse, or harm other users; upload content that infringes on any third party’s intellectual property rights; or use automated tools to access the platform without permission.
13. Modifications to Terms
A Good Turn Company reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted to this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which A Good Turn Company is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, and you waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

By creating an account or using the A Good Turn Company platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
16. Booking Services
A Good Turn Company may, from time to time, offer booking services (“Booking Feature”) that allow users to reserve tickets, experiences, or vendor services through the platform. The availability of booking services is subject to the following terms:
Access Tiers: The Booking Feature within the Itinerary Builder may be displayed as a sponsored placement from a participating Business Member advertiser. If a paid Business Member advertisement is actively sponsoring the Booking Feature for a given itinerary or experience, the feature will be accessible at no additional charge to users who click through via that sponsored link. In the absence of a sponsoring Business Member advertisement, paid members (Explorer, Adventurer, Trailblazer, or equivalent tiers) may access and use the Booking Feature.
Free Member Usage: Free account holders are entitled to one (1) complimentary use of the Booking Feature. After the first complimentary booking, free members will be required to either (a) upgrade their account to a paid membership tier, or (b) pay a one-time Booking Access Fee of $2.99 per booking session to continue using the feature. This fee is non-refundable and does not apply toward a future membership upgrade.
Booking Disclaimer: A Good Turn Company acts solely as a facilitator and technology connector between users and third-party vendors, venues, and service providers. We do not own, operate, control, or employ any of the vendors, guides, transportation providers, or event organizers listed or bookable through our platform. All bookings are subject to the terms, conditions, and cancellation policies of the individual vendor or provider. A Good Turn Company is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or fulfillment of any booked service.
Cancellations and Refunds: Refund eligibility for bookings is governed by the individual vendor’s cancellation policy. A Good Turn Company’s platform booking fee (if any) is non-refundable. Please review each vendor’s specific cancellation terms prior to completing a booking.
Licensing Notice: To the extent that any booking or reservation facilitation activity conducted by A Good Turn Company requires registration, licensure, or compliance with Illinois or federal travel seller, tour operator, or booking agent regulations, A Good Turn Company will obtain all required licenses prior to offering such services commercially. Until such licensure is obtained, booking services are offered as a technology-facilitated convenience tool only, and do not constitute the sale of travel services as defined under applicable law.
17. Membership Access Tiers and Gated Content
Certain content on the A Good Turn Company platform, including but not limited to Trails & Hikes listings, full event details, exclusive neighborhood guides, and Insider Tips, is accessible only to paid members. Free accounts receive a limited preview of available content.
Paid Membership: Paid membership tiers (Explorer+, Adventurer, Trailblazer, and any future equivalent tiers) unlock full access to gated content including all Outdoor & Parks listings, complete event details, trail maps, and premium itinerary features. Membership fees are billed on a recurring basis as disclosed at the time of purchase.
Free Tier Limitations: Free account holders may view a limited preview of up to three (3) events or trail listings per city. Full details, insider tips, and booking access require a paid membership or per-use payment as described herein.
A Good Turn Company reserves the right to adjust the content available at each membership tier at any time. Paid members will be notified of any material reduction in access at least thirty (30) days in advance.
18. Giveaway and Promotional Campaigns
From time to time, A Good Turn Company may conduct giveaway campaigns, sweepstakes, or promotional contests (“Promotions”). All Promotions are subject to the following terms in addition to any promotion-specific rules:
Eligibility: Participants must be legal residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, and must complete a verified account registration through the designated promotional link to be eligible. Accounts created outside of the promotional entry link do not qualify for Promotion entry.
Account Verification Requirement: To be counted as a valid entry, each account created through the Promotion link must be confirmed via email verification and activated (logged in at least once) prior to the closing of the Promotion period. Unverified or inactive accounts will not be counted toward Promotion totals and will not be eligible to win.
Winner Selection: Unless otherwise stated in promotion-specific rules, winners are selected at random from all eligible, verified, and activated entries. For Promotions with a threshold requirement (e.g., 375 verified individual accounts and 375 verified business accounts), the random selection will occur only after the specified threshold has been reached. A Good Turn Company reserves the right to extend the Promotion period if the threshold is not met within the initial campaign window.
Prizes: Prize winners will be notified via the email address associated with their registered account. Winners have seven (7) days to respond to the prize notification before an alternate winner is selected. Prize details, including free membership upgrades or other rewards, will be described in the promotion-specific rules. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash. Standard membership terms and conditions, including subscription renewals and cancellation policies, apply to any free membership prize following the initial complimentary term.
No Purchase Necessary: No purchase is necessary to enter or win any Promotion. A purchase does not improve your chances of winning.
General Conditions: A Good Turn Company reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify any Promotion at any time for any reason. A Good Turn Company is not responsible for technical malfunctions, lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries, or any other errors. By participating in a Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and the promotion-specific rules.
19. Outdoor Activities, Trails, and Parks — Assumption of Risk
Outdoor activities, including but not limited to hiking, trail walking, cycling, park exploration, and urban nature walks listed under our “Outdoor & Parks” category, involve inherent risks including physical injury, adverse weather, and unpredictable terrain. By accessing Outdoor & Parks content and/or participating in any outdoor activity discovered through our platform, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with such activities.
A Good Turn Company does not inspect, maintain, or operate any trail, park, or outdoor facility listed on the platform. All outdoor content is provided for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for assessing your own fitness level, skills, and the suitability of any activity for your personal circumstances. Always check current trail and park conditions with official land management agencies before your visit.
20. Amendments to These Terms
These Terms were last updated on July 5, 2026. A Good Turn Company reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email or platform notification at least fourteen (14) days before taking effect. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
21. City and Neighborhood Content Features
Certain pages of the Service display supplemental local trivia, neighborhood facts, or “spotlight” content about the city or neighborhoods our platform currently serves (for example, historical or geographic facts about Chicago). This content is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only. While we make reasonable efforts to verify the accuracy of neighborhood and city facts before publishing them, we do not guarantee that this supplemental content is complete, current, or error-free, and it should not be relied upon as an official source. If you notice an inaccuracy in any city or neighborhood spotlight content, please let us know using the contact information in Section 15 so we can review and correct it.
22. Service Area Expansion
A Good Turn Company currently focuses its listings, events, and local content on the Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area. We may expand the Service to additional cities or regions in the future. If we expand to a new service area, we will provide notice to registered users describing the new area and any features specific to it before those features become active. Expansion into a new service area does not change the rights and obligations described elsewhere in these Terms, which will continue to apply equally across all service areas unless we state otherwise in the notice describing the expansion.
23. Location Services, User Media, and Rewards
Certain features of the platform request your device location and accept photos or videos you choose to upload. You are responsible for only uploading media you have the right to share, and you acknowledge that media may contain embedded location metadata that we read to verify check-ins and award referral points. Referral points and membership tiers have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are subject to our program rules, including adjustments and periodic resets. Location sharing and media uploads are optional and initiated by you.
24. Authorization to Use Third-Party Services
By using features that depend on third-party services, you authorize A Good Turn Company to access and transmit the limited information necessary to those providers to deliver the requested feature. This includes sending your approximate location to OpenStreetMap mapping services (Overpass, Nominatim, and OpenStreetMap tiles) to return nearby places and events, and, where you make a purchase, sending required information to our payment processor. You acknowledge that these providers process such data under their own terms and privacy policies, and that A Good Turn Company transmits only what is necessary to perform the function you initiate. This authorization continues while you use the relevant features and does not grant any provider rights beyond delivering that service.
