Our Story
A Good Turn Company started with a frustration every local knows: you move to a city, you live in it for years, and yet you still find yourself sending friends to the same three tourist-trap spots because nobody ever wrote down where the real stuff lives.
We built AGT to fix that. Not with algorithms that chase trending hashtags, and not with listicles written by people who flew in for a weekend. We built it with the people who actually live here — the ones who know which 18th Street taqueria opens first, which jazz bar doesn’t charge a cover on Tuesdays, and which lakefront trail is empty at 7am.
We’re a platform built by locals, for locals — and for everyone who wants to experience a city the way locals do.

We believe every neighborhood has a story. Our job is to help you live it. A Good Turn Company connects real people with real places — hidden gems, local events, curated itineraries, and community-driven discovery — in a way that keeps the character of a city intact and the local economy thriving.
A “good turn” means doing something helpful and leaving things better than you found them. That’s how we approach every listing, every itinerary, and every interaction on our platform. We exist to help you do the same.

Where We Are Now
We launched in Chicago in 2025 — starting with 15 neighborhoods, a founding membership community, and a giveaway for our first 375 verified individual and business members. Chicago is just the beginning. Atlanta, Houston, Miami, and New York are next.
