Join us for body positive fashion design! Through multi-media collage, create visuals of items that express how you want to present yourself in the world. All participants are invited to bring or wear an item that makes them feel good in their body. Through the workshop you will produce a new, imaginative design of something you could wear, using fabric, glue, and other art materials. You will come away with ideas of what to modify or change in their wardrobe, exploring desires and texture. This is ideal for people who desire a low-stakes creative environment to explore.
Amelia-Marie Altstadt (they/she) is a local teaching artist: playwright, quilter, and facilitator of difficult discussions. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Disability Studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago, studying children of disabled adults, or CODISA, like themselves!
