Presenters: American Foundation for the Blind (AFB), Access UChicago Now (AUN), Center for Digital Accessibility (CDA) In their national survey of AI users with and without disabilities, the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) found a common theme: “AI is both a powerful accessibility tool and a source of emerging inequities.” Join the AFB for a discussion of their March 2026 research report, “The AI Quagmire: Benefits, Risks, and Aspirations Through a Disability Lens.” They will share their analysis of the data and recommendations for how we can ensure AI expands access rather than deepens disparities. This session is offered in celebration of the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and is co-sponsored by Access UChicago Now and the Center for Digital Accessibility. This meeting will include Zoom’s automated captions.
